I THIEF SENT TO GAOL [by TEUICItArH —PRESS ASSOCIATION] WELLINGTON, Wednesday Seen by men in a passing car when ho .snatched a bap; fro.tn a woman in I'irie Street, Joseph Kric Cornish, aged 27, labourer, appeared in Court to-day and was sentenced to nine months' imprisonment with hard labour, six months for the theft of a handbag and its contents valued at £l2 S)s 7Jd and three months 011 another theft charge involving eight shillings. He was described as,an old offender who preferred to live by stealing.
