OFFENCE BY WOMAN COMMITTAL FOR SENTENCE [IJV TKMSOItAPH—OWX COHKESI'OXDF.NT] WELLING TO X, Wcd n esd a y Admitting a charge of bigamy in tho Magistrate's Court to-day Mary Jonas, aged 31, a domestic, was committed by Mr. J. L. Stout, S.M., to the Supreme Court for sentence. Evidence was given by William R. Jonas that he was married ±0 accused at Christehurch in 1931. Thomas Bolger gave evidence that he met accused at tho Chateau, when she was head waitress there, and went through a form of marriage with her at C7sborne last April. In a statement made to DetectiveSergeant E. H. Compton, and read by him in Court, accused said she knew it was wrong to marry Bolgcr while .Jonas was still alive, but she did not then rcaliso tho seriousness of her action.
