SPLENDID FAMILY RECORD BASIL SMITH AND TWO SONS By winning the Akarana Golf Club's championship this week Pax Smith, holder of the New Zealand amateur title, made bis club successes four in succession. Curiously enough his-older brother, Basil, also won the club championship in four years, lU'2B-UO-UO* 31, gaining the honour a fifth time in 103:$. He later turned professional and now has an engagement in Invercargill. Still another coincidence is that the father of the two above-mentioned, Basil Smith, senior, won the Balmacewen Club's championship four times in succession, 1010-11-J-J-13. He is now professional to the Akarana Club.
