Fairy Airships
dear boys and girls,— HOW jolly it is to have a lovely long week-end again. It seems just ages since we had our last holidays, doesn't it? Let's hope the sun will shine just as warmly as it can for the next three days. I expect some of you will be having your first swims this season if it is tvarm and sunny. Last week-end I saw several little boys carrying towels and bath' n K su ' ts » but I must say 1 didn't envy them at all. The water looks far to chilly yet for me to venture in. I think Grey Malcolm is going to spend. Labour Day week-end chasing dragonflies, for every time I sec him he's bounding about after these dainty, fairy airships. 1 tried to explain to him that they might be carrying wee fairy eople and that would never do to hurt one; but, oh dear, he just refused to listen to me and darted off after a sunbeam, evidently mistaking it for a dragonfly. 1 think dragonflics are such fascinating things, don't you? You can almost imagine you are in Fairyland when you see one hovering over a still pond or on a gaily-tinted blossom. I love the rainbow colours in their wings. Somehow they remind me of a glistening dewdrop sparkling in the earlyliiorning sunshine. Yes, they are such dainty elfin things that I just hate to see that playful old puss chasing them up and down the garden beds. 1 rather wish the dragonfly . . { W 0«ld wing its way over the goldfish rjj ' J pond.
