SITUATION IN BERLIN LITTLE MEAT AND FISH NO COAL FOR HOME FIRES (Rccrived October 0, 0.0 p.m.) LONDON, Oct, 6 The Rotterdam correspondent of the Times says the food situation in Berlin has definitely become worse in the last fortnight. Many important categories of food are unobtainable. Meat and fish and the principal forms of ' fat have almost disappeared, and life has to be maintained on a diet consisting practically of nothing but bread and potatoes. Work in the Silesian coalfields is held up for want of trucks, and it is impossible in Berlin to obtain supplies for domestic heating. TROOP MOVES DENIED CHINESE TURKESTAN LONDON, Oct. <5 ■ Reports that Soviet troops are concentrated on the border of Sinkiang (Chinese Turkestan"! and have invaded the territory are described in .Moscow as a malicious invention. Chinese official circles have also denied the reports.
