REQUEST BY DEPUTATION A request that immediate steps be taken to provide an open market for the city of Auckland was made by a deputation from the Crusade for Social . Justice and J.'J other organisations at a meeting of the City Council last night, it was stated that it was necessary in war time to utilise all foodstuffs and that there should be no waste. An open market would make it possible for all fruit, vegetables and foodstuffs to be sold. The request was referred to the Finance Committee for a report.
