WASHINGTON, Oct. r> The United States Post Office and Pan American Airways to-day urged the Civil Aeronautical Authority to authorise a passenger and air mail service from California to Australia, via Honolulu. Canton Island, Noumea and Auckland. Mr. Charles C'raddick, air mail superintendent, opposed the "stud service'' originating from Honolulu. He said the existing Pacific service to Hongkong should be continued and improved, and the new service should originate from the United States.
