A. C. Allum at yesterday's meeting of tlie 'Auckland' Chamber of of Commerce. It was time fGr the business community to voice its grievances, said Mr. Allum, arid give up its "hush hush" policy. , , Discussions between the Government and representatives of the Associated Chambers of Commerce were being held at present, said the chairman, Mr. A. Ely. Mr. Allum replied that the time for private negotiations had passed. The business community was willing to observe every regulation that this or anv Government might bring forward because of the war, but he 'did not think it was necessary to go lurther than had been done in Great Britain.
