WOMAN IN HARBOUR

ELDERLY WIDOW'S DEATH An inquest into the death of Rose Hannah Nennis, a widow, aged 7-1, of US Karaka Street, Newton, was held before the coroner, Mr. F. K. llunt, yesterday.

Evidence was given by Stanley George Webb, eranedriver, employed by the Auckland Harbour Hoard, that, at 3.15 p.m. on August ~H, he saw deceased floating in the harbour near Queen's Wharf. Resuscitation was applied. and she was sent to the hospital, where she died 011 August '27. Evidence was given by Mrs. Winifred Pile, with whom deceased had lived, that she had never expressed any intention of. committing suicide, and appeared to be happy 011 that day. A verdict was returned that death was due to shock following upon immersion in the water, and that there was no evidence to show how deceased caine to be in the water.
