A cordial reception was given to the chairman, Mr. D. Wilkie, for whom Mr. E. Chapman has deputised in recent weeks. The South Auckland League notified a proposal to hold its annual picnic at Tongariro National Park, a special train to be ran from Huntly—or from Auckland if adequate support was forthcoming—and ski-ing and burlesque football would be novel feature*. Tho proposal was referred to the Control Board. Reporting on the visit of the Elleralie senior B and third grade teams to Rotorna, whore they wero respectively beaten, 14-7-8 and 24—8, by the local thirteens, the junior board secretary, Mr. W. F. Clarice, said he was much impressed with tho improved standard of play by Rotorna teams since last season. Keen officials included Messrs. A. Stanaway, G. Middleton and A. Ettershank (secretory). Tho Ellerslie Club acknowledged the Rotorun, League's hospitality. The special trophy awarded to the Point Chevalier Club for the best equipped team, and display in tho farewell parade to the New Zealand team, will be presented at the club's prize night this month. Tho Newton third grade team waa granted permission to play at Glen Massey on Saturday.
