Thursday Twenty-five applications were received by the Pukekohe Borough Council nt . its monthly meeting last evening for the position of-engineer-foreman, which has been created in view of the impending retirement of the present borough foreman, Mr. S. J. Clews, on account of indifferent health. It was decided to deal with the applications at a special meeting next Tuesday. Approval was given to a subdivisional plan submitted by the Director of State Housing in .reference to land in West Street,»on which 12 State houses are to be erected.
