OBITUARY
DR. SINCLAIR GILLIES, SYDNEY, Aug. 14 The death has occurred of Dr. Sinclair Gillies, aged 70, of Sydney's oldest and best-known physicians. He was a son of the late. Mr. Justice Gillies, of Auckland. I The late Dr. Gillies was born in Auckland. His father, Mr. Justice Gillies, was one of New Zealand's leading citizens, being; successively a Member of Parliament, Cabinet Minister in several Ministries, Superintendent of the Auckland Province and judge of the Supreme Court. : - Dr. Gillies was the eldest son by Mr. Justice Gillies' second marriage. Edil.cated at the Auckland Grammar School, he studied medicine at Loudon University, where he was a gold medallist. From London he went to Sydney and founded a practice which became one ? of the largest in the city. He had lived there ever since. Dr. Gillies is survived by his wife.
