VAN STRIKES TRUCK
THREE PERSONS INJURED TWO YOUTHS AND GIRL ALL TAKEN TO HOSPITAL Three pcoplo were admitted to the Auckland Hospital as tlio result of n motor-van colliding with a stationaiy, unoccupied motor-truck in Jervois Road, Herno Bay. near the corner of Wallace Street, at about 3.30 o'clock yesterday afternoon. They were: — Thomas Gray, aged 18, truck driver, of 254 Ponsonby Road, concussion; condition not serious. Dorothy Phillips, aged 15, daughter of Mr. W. Phillips, of 10 Great North Road, Grey Lynn, concussion and abrasions; condition not serious. Frederick Charles Wilson, aged IS, truck driver, of 251 Ponsonby Road, concussion and head injuries; condition not serious. Gray was driving tho van and Wilson and the girl were passengers. The vehicle was proceeding along Jervois Road in the direction of tho Three Lamps. It struck tho back of tho truck, which is the property of Mr. Navan Deva, fruiterer. Both vehicles were extensively damaged. Tho radiator of tho van was forced on top of tho engine and torn open, and tho left-hand mudguard was buckled. The impact smashed the decking of tho truck, tho debris being strewn over tho road.
