AFTERNOON PARTY
OFFICERS ENTERTAINED PRESIDENT AND COUNCIL CATHOLIC WOMEN'S LEAGUE The president and council of the Catholic Women's League entertained the ex-cifficers and councillors at a most enjoyable afternoon tea yesterday. The rooms had been 'charmingly decorated with bowls of daffodils and Iceland poppies, and with large stands of berries and foliage. In welcoming the guests the president, Mrs. M. Pilling, spoke of the foundation members who had died since the formation of the,league and of the inspiring example of service they had left for others to follow. These foundation members included Mrs. , Hansen; Mrs. F. Kelly, Mrs. C. Dcysdale and Mrs. T. Buxton. The regretted absence of Mrs. J. J. O'Brien, the first president, and other valued ex-officers and councillors was referred to and pleasure was expressed at the presence of so many who had helped to build up the league since its inauguration. The hostesses included: —Mrs. D. P. O'Leary, Mrs. C. P. Stichbury, Mrs. J. B. Callan, Mrs. K. Garland, Mrs. E. McGinn, Miss A. Bryant, Miss M. Ormond, Miss V. A. Walsh, Miss L. Drysdale, Miss A. Wright, Miss C. Cremen.
Among the guests were:—Mrs. D. Tole, Mrs. I. Keating, Mrs. P. Delany, Mrs. T. J. Nevin, Mrs. M. Hackett, Mrs. W. Kemble, Mrs. A. O'Donoghue, Mrs. Hugh Maguire, Miss A. Fitzpatrick, Miss A. Mulvany, Miss E. Browne, Miss A. Fouhy.
