STRAY ANIMALS
Sir, —It is most noticeable in the closely populated areas there are 'large numbers of cats and dogs, and these constitute a grave menace to the health of the community. Numbers of them are unhealthy and it is very desirable that stringent regulations be drawn up so as to eliminate as many as possible of tbese animals, whose lives are most unhappy when living in restricted places. In England, I believe, dogs and cats are not allowed to be kept at all in the closely populated areas. M. Webber. Auckland.
