PRESENTATION CEREMONY After travelling 100,000 miles in 10 years, the Auckland City Mission's van has been traded in for a new model. At a ceremony at mission's office yesterday afternoon, Mr. \V. Spragg, representing a group of Auckland city business men and businesses, handed over the keys and papers of the new van to the lie'/. Jasper Calder, city missioner, who in turn handed them to the driver, Mr. J. Manning. The old van, said Mr. Calder, had been built by the Men's Guild 10 years ago, and since then had carried clothes, furniture and firewood. Harvest festival offerings had been brought ill from the country by it. During the 10 years Mr. Manning had been the only driver and it had not been involved in any accident. *
A few months ngb it was realised that the van was of 110 further use, and an appeal had been made to business men for money to purchase a new one. Enough money had been raised to obtain the van, said Mr. C'alder, but more would bo needed to pay it off. During the ceremony, Mr. Manning was presented with an envelope by Mr. 11. Insull, a member: of tho mission executive, *• .
