APPEAL BOARD SITS
THE POSTAL DEPARTMENT SALARIES AND PROMOTIONS The Post and Telegraph Department Appeal Board, under the chairmanship of Mr. H. A. Young, S.M., of Christchurch, commenced sitting in Auckland yesterday, and dealt with matters affecting the pay and promotion of officers. Tho sitting will last about a week, and will deal with appeals from the whole of the Auckland Postal District. Tho members of the board comprised Mr. H. M. Patrick, formerly deputychief postmaster in Auckland, and now of Wellington, who is acting as department advocate; Mr._ G. A. Wilkes, telegraph representative; Mr. A. Robertson, postal representative; and Mr. H. Brown, advocate for the Post and Telegraph Officers' Association. The secretary to the board is Mr. E. A. Munden. Sittings of tho board will be held at Hamilton. New Plymouth, Wanganui, Palmerston North _ and then Wellington. The sittings will not'occupy nearly much time as thev did last year, when tho question or re-classification was also considered.
