UNSETTLED The weather report and forecast f or New* Zealand, issued by the Governmont meteorologist last evening were as follows: — General Situation—The anti-cyclone which covers the Dominion is now lhoving slowly eastward and pressure i s • falling under the influence of a depression to the north and another in the western Tasman Sea. Winds. —Between north and east predominating, mainly light to fresh i n force, but becoming strong in exposed positions in the Auckland Province. Seas. —New Zealand leather rough from East Cape northward andsouth of Wcstport; elsewhere slight to moderate. Eastern Tasman Sea: Winds between east and north, strong to gale force but decreasing in the northern portion, with rough seas, and moderate in the southern portion with moderate seas.

Weather. —For the most part fair to cloudy at first, but becoming unsettled in the far north, with rain developing, ans scattered rains later extending to Other areas. Temperatures rather milder, but cold to-night, with frosts probable.

SPECIAL AUCKLAND FORECAST

UNSETTLED WITH RAIN

The Government meteorologist issued to the Herald last evening the following special forecast fori the Auckland Province: —Moderate to strong winds from an easterly quarter. The weather is likely to be cloudy and unsettled, with Vain probable.. Temperatures milder. Seas becoming rough on the east coast, slight to moderate on the west coast.

WEEK-END WEATHER

Auckland. —Dull conditions, with a. light and variable wind, on Saturday, were followed yesterday by fine, el eft r weather with a moderate wind from the east-south-east. The maximum temperature was 57 degrees and the minimum 43 degrees. Barometric pressure fell slightly.

Wellington.—Saturday was sunny, with a fresh southerly breeze. Sunday was fine and cool. The maximum temperature on Saturday was 50.6 degrees and on Sunday 50.3 degrees. At 3 p.m. on 'Sunday the barometer reading was 30.04 in. (1017.2 millibars). Christchurch. —The week-end was fine and mild, with ' a light southwesterly wind on Saturday and a light northerly on Sunday. The maximum temperature on Saturday was 4ff.6 degrees: The barometer fell slowly on Sunday to 30.10 in. (1021 millibars). Dunedin. —The weather on Saturday was fine, calm and mild. The maximum temperature was 46 degrees. On Sunday the sun shone stroridy and the temperature reached 54 degrees.
