MR. JAMES ASHTON PROMINENT SYDNEY FIGURE (Received August G, 6.50 p.m.) SYDNEY, Auk. G The death has occurred of Mr. James Asliton, a notable figure in the commercial and political life of New South Wales. He was chairman of the Commercial Banking Company of Sydney,
Limited, nncl until recently chairman of the Mutual Life and Citizens' Assurance Company, Limited. He was a member of the Legislative Council and formerly lie was Minister of Lands. Mr. jtVshton ivas the father of four well known polo players. Ho Was aged 75.
