MISSING YACHTS
: AERIAL SEARCH MADE WIDE EXPANSE COVERED CRAFT NOT SEEN FOR WEEK A three and'a-half hours' search for the yacht Titi and its owner, Mr. Gordon Monice, who has been missing since he left Gisborne cm July 30, was conducted by Flying-Officer L. A. Robertson, of Hobsonville, on Saturday. The search was fruitless.
Flying an Airspeed Oxford machine, Flving-Officer Robertson proceeded 100 milos nortli-east seaward of the Great Barrier and scoured ah' area o£ 100 square miles between there and-Cape Brett. During the search he kept in wireless communication with Hobsonville air base. , •
A launch of the Whakatane .Harbour Board, which left Whakatane at 6 a.m., also searched the same .area. On Friday Flying-Officer Robertson searched a wide expanse of ocean between Coroniandel ■ and East Cape, -for about five hours.
The missing<yacht, which was last sighted from ' Tuparoa .riding out ft storm on July 31-, is a 35ft. ketch equipped with an auxiliary engine. The hull is painted white with a green deck and tho name Titi is painted on the stern.
