MATCHES ON SATURDAY /. / - GRAMMAR DEFEATS KING'S SACRED HEART SUCCESSFUL - The ■winning teams in senior Rucby matches for secondary schools on Saturday afternoon were Auckland Grammar School and Sacred Heart College. Playing with much pace, Grammar gave a fine exhibition in outclassing King's College by 31 points to 0. This match was contested on Grammar's ground, "whicm was firm. Sacred Heart, which had already won the schools' championship comfortably, defeated Seddon Memorial Technical College by 28 points to 0, the game being played on Sacred Heart's ground. Grammar had the better of the forward exchanges, and the greater sureness of its backs plsred an almost continual strain on the King's defence. The scoring for Grammar was opened with a tfy'by Cantwell this being the only points obtained in the first spell. Soon after play wjjs resumed Kay kicked a field goal for Grammar. A persistent onslaught was kept up by Grammar, and a quick-passing rush ended in Howie obtaining a try, which Bean converted- Except for an occasional rally by King's, Grammar was setting the pace. It worked the ball upfield again, after which Pring, picking it up in the loose, ran across for a try. The Grammar forwards heeled to Bean, who dummied and almost scored. He lost possession and the ball was kicked to St. George, on the wing, who had no difficulty in gaining a try near tho posts. Bean converted.

Grammar's seventh try was obtained when Kay, receiving in a combined back movement, cut through and enabled Higgs to score wide out.
