98 YEARS OF AGE
HAMILTON RESIDENT [from oub ownHAMILTON, Sunday With the recent passing of several well-known Waikato identities, the honour of being Hamilton's oldest resident now belongs to Mr. Richard Ecdner, of Thackeray Street, who willceiebrate his :98.th T 'birthday on- Tueim. Mr. Hudner was born in County-Ok, Ireland, and came to New Zealand ia the late 'eighties in the steamer Doric. The voyage occupied 42 days. Mr. Hudner landed at Port Chalmers and he settled in Canterbury, where he was farming for some years. Thirty years ago he came to the Waikato aEd took up land ,at Hillcrest,_ near Hamilton. He has been living in retirement in Hamilton for some years. He is very fond of gardening and enjoys excellent'health: • '
