THE LEAGUE CODE
REPRESENTATIVE GAME
PROVINCIAL SUPREMACY SOUTH AUCKLAND'S CHALLENGE For the first time for a number of years ft South Auckland representative team will meet the Auckland Hugby League thirteen in a match at C'arlaw I'ark this afternoon for th. j virtual Supremacy of the provineb. The game has heen arranged as the result of a challenge issued hv South Auckland, which lias not heen beaten for two years. Teams defeated by South Auckland include such outstanding combinations as Wellington, Taranaki and the 'Maori representatives. The strength of the South Auckland team lines in its forwards, and the Auckland vanguard should hn sorely tested. Claims have been made by followers of the code in South Auckland that more than one player from the district should have heen chosen for the tour of (ircat Britain and France. Players who are likely to impress are X. Omni, hackrow forward, J. Brookes, the hooker, who recently played for the North Island against, the South, Shaw, the fullback, and Tukere, wing-threequarters. The Auckland . team will be weakened by Ihe absence of its'most prominent players who are included in the Xew Zealand side. The selection, however, is considered to be very strong, ami Flannagan's' hooking should give the backs, plenty of opportunities Maliima, halfback, and Donaldson, fiveeighths, should delight the spectators with their spectacular tactics.
