CHATHAM CUP TIE NORTH ISLAND FINAL PONSONBY AND WATERSIDE The North Island final in the Chatham Cup Soccer competition will be played between Pousonbv, of Auckland, and Waterside, of Wellington, as tho principal attraction at Blandlord Park this afternoon. Waterside >s the present holder of the trophy which is symbolic of club premiership throughout New Zealand. I'onsonbv will have to be in its very best form to take the honours, as Waterside is reported to Do a very strong side, with definite prospects of retaining the Chatham Cup. Included 111 the Waterside team are a number of players who have gained Wellington representative honours. Tlio Fl.vger Rose Howl will be at slake ill the curtain-raiser contest between f thc junior representatives of Auckland and Wellington. Both combinations posse's players of promise and the game should tie productive of bright -football. The trophy is at present held by Auckland. Senior championship games under the control of the Auckland Football Association will also be continued this afternoon. North Shore and Y.M.C.A. are matched rit Devonport, where a close encounter should resujt, while Eastern Suburbs and Comrades will meet at St. Heliers. Thistle and .Mount Albert Grammar Old Hoys will play at Fowlds Park. Onehunita and Abels are opposed at Waikaraka Park. The tennis for the Chatham Cup fixtures are as follows: Waterside. —"Ward (S!), Jordan, Bolton, Harris, C'alder ('2), Hazel, McCarthy, Walker, Longbottom, R. Janes. Ponsonby.—Warren. Raggett, Masters, Blackie, deal, House, limes, McCallum, Wylie, Farnan, Mnllane, McKay, Fl.vger. Mr. A. Kyle will ho referee in place »,of Mr. It. Brighton.
