SHIPMENT OF BIRDS
PHEASANTS FOR HAWKE'S BAY A consignment of 12 Mongolian pheasants was brought from Liverpool by Dr. F. Hall, who acted as slrp's surgeon, on the steamer Maimoa, which arrived at Auckland yesterday. ,The birds were liberated at the Auckland Zoo for a month's quarantine before being released by the Hawke's Bay Acclimatisation Society. Dr. Hall, an English sportsman, brought a number of birds from England last year for the Hawke's Bay Acclimatisation Society. He will remain in New Zealand for the Taupo fishing season.
