COMMITS SUICIDE
SINGAPORE OFFICIAL WORRY OF WORLD TROUBLES [from our own correspondent] SINGAPORE. July IS Because ho was worried by the present political situation. Mr. Richard C'aunce, aged 46. of Lancashire,* superintendent of the town cleansing department of the Singapore Municipality. took his own life. Evidence to this effect was given by Dr. H. A. -Elder, a Singapore medical practitioner, at an inquest into tho d?ath of Mr. Caunce.^ The coroner, Mr. W. G. Porter, said lie was satisfied from the evidence that deceased had committed suicide while the balance of his mind was disturbed. Mrs. Caunce gave evidence that her husband was worried about their daughters at school in England. He had left them there during the crises last vear. when he returned from leave.
