SICKNESS AT SEA
DIET RECOMMENDED LONDON, July 2."i Cold pork and chutney, corned beef and pickles sometimes stay down when the daintiest sandwiches will not, if seasickness threatens, writes Dr. R. J. Blnckham, former honorary surgeon to the Viceroy' of India, in the British Medical Journal. Food is unnecessary, but fluid is needed. Thti best beverages are neat brandy, iced dry ginger ale and iced water containing a few drops of bitters. Iced champagne is the most expensive, but tlie least effective preventive. Many admire sitout, he adds. Keeping warm is essential, and lying down is helpful.
