YESTERDAY'S. SALES RETURN ON INVESTMENTS following is a list of yesterday's transactions on the New Zealand Stock Exchanges and the yield at the quoted price. The exchange premium on dividends payable in sterling is included, and allowance is ina'dc for British income tax where necessary. The yield on Government loans and local body loans includes redemption and an allowance for brokerage. AUCKLAND EXCHANGE

THE MINING MARKET BASE METALS STRONGER ADVANCE IN EMPERORS Base metals showed n stronger trend in the mining market on the Auckland Stock Exchange yesterday, and Broken Hill South changed hands .3d dearer. Emperors also improved, gaining 2d on sale. In the only other sale Ngahere showed a decline of almost Is since the last transaction about six weeks ago. Closing quotations were:—

Addy, of Otorohangn, when he was manager of the New Zealand Co-operative Dairy Company's Tuaknu butter factory, as an annual grading trophy for suppliers to Ihe factory whose herds exceed <SO cows, Ims been won this year by Mr. O. T. I fart land, of Jiuekland. 'II"- ""inner of the cup presented by Mr. Dean, of Pokcno, who is a director of the company, as a grading trophy lor suppliers with herds of from ten to 50 cows, is Mr. G. Horrox, of To Kauwhata.

In presenting the cups to Messrs. Hartland and Horrox, at the factory's annual ball in the Tualean Town Hall, Mr. R. J. Glasgow, a director of tho company, announced that in the period to which the competitions applied, 99.388 per cent of the cream supplied by M' 7 Hartland graded finest quality, wlido Mr. Uorrox's percentage was 99.78. r f he very warm, dry weather experienced over a. large part, of tho season, and tho fact that both tho cup winners were miles from the factory, made such grading percentages highly meritorious.
