JUNIOR MANAGEMENT ;; SUCCESSFUL CLUB PARADE Tho congratulation!! of the junior management? .committee of tho Auckland Rugby League were last evening extended to junior rlubs for their participation in Saturday's 'parade at Carlaw - Park in honour of the English tour players. i Tho chairman, Mr. E. Chapman, said that tho srifrport given by delegates, club officials generally, 'and players was highly gratifying. It was decided! to send ;a complimentary letter to all clubs which were represented. Judged, by ballpt, with points based on dress, ''marching ihdßeld conduct, the executive's ■special trophy, was awarded to Point Cheva■lier. ,-v v ] A' suggestion was made that tho parade should be an' annual one, or, in tho alternative, a day sot apart for a junior parade in conjunction with a special seven-a-side tournament '• It was resolved to send a letter to Mr. G. Grey Campbell regretting the circumstances of his withdrawal from tho English tour and wishing. him a speedy restoration to health.. Congratulations were extended to Mr. R. Doblo on his appointment to the vacancy. , ' - , (An application from Northcote and Birkenhead Ramblers .to hold a charge,-day on Saturday at Stafford Park, Northcote, was referred to the cbntrol board with favourable recommendation. PRESENTATION TO MR. CAMPBELL Regret that through health reasons Mr. G. Grey Campbell had been compelled to resign from the position of co-manager to the New Zealand team was expressed nt last evening's meeting of the Auckland Rugby Leaguo Referees' Association. In making a presentation to Mr. Campbell; who attended the meeting, the chairman, Mr.. L.; Bull, said that the referees had much to thank him for and^they desired.to pay -him tributo. In reply, Mr. Campbell, said he felt,highly honoured' by . : tho association, and, while he regretted being unable to go to»England, ho felt that there were other great compensations. v " . ,T|io primary schools' management also passed a resolution regretting Mr. Campbell's inability to,'go on tour with .tho New Zealand team, and expressing the hope that he would soon'be restored to health^ A 1
