HAMILTON SEASON OPENS [from our own correspondent] HAMILTON, Monday Tho Hamilton Gun Club held its first, claybird shoot of the season at Melville on Saturday. A largo number of shootcra took part and a high standard prevailed throughout the four matches. Results were as follows : First TrOptay Shoot, of 1!2 birds.—G. "Wilson (Otago), 1; T. Glenn and A. A. McLean, equal, 2. Six-bird Eye-opener.—E. Duncan, P. Hall, A. Webster, J. Dobson, T. Glenn, A. Garvin and A. A. McLean, equal. 1. -' Second Trophy Match, of 12 birds.—W. E. Nicholson. 1, on a shoot-off; J. Dobson, •2; J. W. McMikon, 3; W. Brink worth, 4.. Soven-bird Gimcrack; —M. Pratt, T. Glenn, A. Garvin, R. Soderson, and J. W. McMiken. eaual. 1. METROPOLITAN GUN CLUB . The Metropolian Gnu Club held ita 1939 skeet championship on Saturday afternoon at Manurere. Last year's winner, D. P. North, Whangarei, retained the tillo after a close contest. The highest individual scores were:—D. P. North, 2-1, 21 —15; A. E. Robinson, 23, 21—11; P. H. Seccombe, 20, 23—13; R. B. Wilson, 19, 22—11; A. L> Byrne, 19, 20 —39.
