ROMAN PAINTING
LECTURE BY DR. TRENDALL An illustrated lecture on "Roman Painting" will be given in the University College Hall to-nighf by Dr. A. D. Trendall, a New Zealander with a distinguished career, who is paving a brief visit to Auckland. Roman 'painting is a subject to which Dr. Trendall has paid a great deal of study, and his work as a. member of the British School at Rome has enabled him to become thoroughly familiar with the most recent developments in archeology. some of which throw a new licht on problems of Roman life and- culture. The lecture will be illustrated with a large number of special lantern slides Dr. Trendall has brought with him. This will bo the only public lecture by Dr. Trendall during his Auckland visit.
