SCOUTS' CYCLE RELAY
The hicycle which is being ridden in relays by Boy Scouts from Invercargill to Nelson reached Cliristchurch 011 Sunday evening only nine minutes behind schedule. ]t left Invercargill at 3 p.m. 011 Friday and reached Oamarn at 6.35 p.m. on Saturday, 35 minutes late.. Ashburton riders took it over at tho Rangitata River, and it was then 40 minutes late. They rode it through sloet. rain and snow to the Rakaia, and from there* five Cliristchurch Scouts brought it into the city in one hour and 40 minutes, arriving at nine minutes past five. The distance meter shows .'561.4 miles, and there has only been one puncture. Next week-end it will be ridden to Kaikoura, and 'from there Nelson Scouta jrill tako it to their own town. 1
