A NEW MOTOR-SHIP
TRINDER ANDERSON FLEET REPLACING THE ASHBURTON The fleet of the Australind Steam Shipping Company, of London, managed by Trinder Anderson and Company, which is associated with the New Zealand Shipping Company, will be increased by an order for a Diesel ship from William Denny and Brothers, of Dumbarton, who built for the lino tlio Australind and Armadale, which aro well-known on the New Zealand coast. Ihe new ship will have a deadweight capacity of between 9000 and 10,000 tons. I lie new contract is the first order placed by the company for 10 years, although the Scandinavian-built motorsnip Kaituna, now en route from New York to Auckland on her first visit bere, was placed under the Trinder Anderson fla«»; recently by her owners, the i\ew Zealand Shipping Company. Ihe new vessel will replace the Ashburton, which was sold to Norwegian owners early in 1937*
