ENJOYABLE DANCE

GRAMMAR SCHOOL PUPILS ATTRACTIVE DECORATIONS WELLINGTON COLLEGE GUESTS Several members of the staff and pupils of the Wellington Boys' College, who were on a goodwill visit to the Auckland Boys' Grammar School, were entertained by their hosts at an enjoyable dance in tho Assembly Hall on Saturday night. Round the walls of the hall, largo painted replicas of the shields of the two schools alternated with crossed nikau palm leaves. At either end were largo stands of bamboo foliage, and along the front of the stage was a deep border of ferntree leaves. In the supper room the walls were lined with bunting and a colour scheme embodying tho black and yellow colours of Wellington College and tho blue and gold of the Grammar School was used. A charming effect was made by the lovely sprays of mimosa, which were twined round tho pillars and massed against the walls. The host and hostess were tho headmaster, Mr. C. M. Littlejohn, and Mrs. Littlejohn, who wore a frock of chartreuse green taffetas embroidered with silver. Accompanying them was tho headmaster of Wellington College, Mr. W. A. Armour. The slipper arrangements were in chargo of the mothers of tho prefects and senior pupils and comprised:— Mrs. E. W. Inder, who wore a frock of shot blue brocade; Mrs. A. McLachlan, forest green crepe; Mrs. S. T. Carter, black floral crepe; Mrs. R. Carnachan, mulberry crepe; Mrs. M. Cantwell, black and white cloque; Mrs. P. J. Pring, flowered green and rose satin. Among those present were: —Mrs. C. N. Nicholls, who wore a frock of navy blue cloqu'e; Airs. H. Owen Ingram, shot rose taffetas; Mrs. F. Price, peacock blue taffetas; Mrs. A. M. Nicholson, black and white checked taffetas; Mrs. J. Bracewell, green and white floral crepe; Miss June Gresham, Miss Beth Jerrat, Miss Geraldine Gunsler, Miss Leslie Rogerson, Miss Joyce Maben, Miss Audrey Sweet, Miss Daphne Thomas, Miss Elizabeth Eraser, Miss Betty Chambers, Miss Beatrice McGechie, Miss Pat White, Miss Aileen Stanton, Miss Jocelvn Tonks, Miss Wilma Saunders, Miss Margaret Lisk, Miss Pam Miller, Miss P.
