PLAYERS FOR ENGLAND DOMINION LEAGUE TEAM FURTHER TEN SELECTED PROLONGED DELIBERATION After deliberating for nearly six hours, the selectors of the Now Zealand Hugbv League team, Messrs. T. A. McClymont, J. A. Redwood and J. Amos, chose last night a further ten players for the tour of England and France. Eight players were announced during the week-end, making 18 selected of the 26 required. The remainder of the team, five backs and three forwards, are expected to be announced to-day. The team will leave Wellington by the Rangitiki on July 27 and will arrive in England on August 29. The opening match of the tour will bo against St. Helen's on September 2. The team will conclude its English itinerary on December 16, and six further games will be played in Erance. The two managers of the team are Messrs, J. A. PLAYERS' CAREERS SOME FINE PERFORMERS INCLUSION OF AUSTRALIAN CRICKETER GAINS PLACE Following are brief sketches of the 10 players chosen last night:—; J. Smith, lOst. 101b., Auckland, at fullback, is one of the most discussed players in the game. He has played faultless football this season, _ and in Australia last year with the New Zealand team he played good games at five-eighths and on the wing. C. Davison, 14st. 41b., Canterbury, is one of the biggest backs seen for some time. He has a fine turn of speed and has already represented New Zealand. Davison is a splendid goal kicker. L. Mills, list., Auckland, is a member of the Richmond club, and is in his second year of senior football. He is one of tlie best players in Auckland, very fast and a good scoring back. A. Kay, 12st. 21b., Auckland, is a brilliant attacking threequarter, who was a big success in Australia last season. He lias speed, and takes a lot of stopping. He can also play well at five-eighths. Y. Scott,. 13st. 41b., Auckland, is one of New Zealand's outstanding cricketers, and a former representative Soccer player. He plays well at fullback and is likely to develop into one of the best utility backs in the team. His defence is verv solid. R. Banliam, 12st., Auckland, first came into prominence two years ago with the South Sydney Club in Sydney, and as a five-eighths was considered unluckv to miss the trip to England with the Kangaroos. He came to Auckland last season as a playercoach. G. Bell aney, 14st. 91b., Canterbury, has represented the South Island on two previous occasions. He is a fine loose forward, and is a prolific scorer in club football. Although Bellaney carried a painful _ injury throughout yesterday's trial, his form was very impressive. J. Clark, 14st. 41b.. Canterbury, was one of the most impressive forwards in the trial games. He is a bustling type of player, and represented the South Island' last season. He is one of the finest front row forwards seen for some years. H. Mataira, 15st.. Auckland, is a former All Black, and one of the finest players seen in Now Zealand for many years. He is a powerful forward, who has won high honours in several positions iti the scrum.

G. Mitchell. 14st. 71b., Auckland, is a former Wairarapa Rugby representative, and is one of the best loose forwards in the panic. Speed and good handling has been a feature of his play with the Richmond Club.
