EMERGENCY CORPS
FORMATION IN WHANGAREI [from OUR Offx correspondent] WHANGAREI, Sunday At a mooting of Whangarei women, hold in tlio Town Hull, the various subcommittees and officers of the Women's Emergency Corps wore elected. At a previous meeting it had been decided to form such a corps. It was reported that the full cooperation of the various Government departments had been promised, as had the support of local authorities. The following officers were elected: — President, The Mayoress, Mrs. W. Jones; vice-presidents, Mrs. G. R. Hunt, Mrs. J. H. Nicholls and Miss A. Cookson; secretaries, Mrs. J. A. Inkster and Mrs. G. N. Morris; treasurer. Mrs. M. Allan. Loaders of sub-committees were: —Central depot, Mrs. W. Jones; clerical, Mrs. J. A. Inkster and Mrs. G. N. Morris; food and clothing, Mrs. .J. T. Evans and Mrs. Ross; visiting, Mrs. J. D. Mitchell; domestic, Mrs. R. S. Finch; transport. Mrs. H. \V. Crawford and Mrs. A. Potts; evacuation, Miss D. Lupton; accommodation (town), Mrs. R. Lindsay, (country), Mrs. H. E. Johnston; first-aid, St. John Ambulance. There are also a laundry and entertainment committee to be appointed.
