STEAMER ARRESTED
JEW REFUGEES ABOARD CREW REFUSES LANDING Independent Cable Service (Received July 3, 9.20 p.m.) JERUSALEM, July 2 Answering a mutiny S.O.S. from the captain of a steamer off the coast of Palestine, the British destroyer Ivanhoc raced from Haifa to the ship, put her under arrest and escorted her to Haifa. It is believed that the captain wished to land 350 Jewish refugees, but the crew refused to obey his orders, fearing arrest and imprisonment. SEAMAN KILLED ACCIDENT WITH REVOLVER (Received July 3, 11.15 p.m.) JERUSALEM, July 3 Able Seaman Carr, a member of H.M.S. Ivanhoe's boarding party, was shot dead when lie accidentally pulled the trigger of his revolver in helping a sick woman aboard the destroyer.
