CENTENNIAL DANCE
MT. EDEN PLUNKET BRANCH The ladies' committeo of the Social Service held a very successful Plunket Centennial dance in the Crystal Palace ballroom last week. The hostesses were Mrs. W. Hicks, Mrs. P. Allan, Mrs. L. Piper, Mrs. J. Simpson and Mrs. L. F. Mac Queen, while the special guests were the Mayor and Mayoress of Mount Eden, Mr. and Mrs. R. J. Mills, the president of the Auckland Plunket Society, Mrs. J. C. Allan, and Miss Dorothy Wood, centennial organiser for Mount Fden.
During the evening solos were given by Miss Merle Harvey and an exhibition of ballroom dancing by Miss Natalie Stratton and Mr. Tattley. The dance was held to augment the funds for the new Plunket rooms to be erected at Mount Eden in centennial year.
