BALL AT UNIVERSITY CHARMING DECORATIONS A SUCCESSFUL EVENT Many students and.their friends wore present at the Auckland University College on Saturday night, when the 25th annual ball, arranged by the Commerce Students' Society, was hold in the college hall. The entrance hall and an adjoinirig room were comfortably arranged with chairs and with stands of fine bamboo foliage, while in the dancing room, shaded lights and festoons of rose pink streamers gave a pleasing effect. Bowls of Iceland poppies were arranged in the common room where supper was served. The Official Guests
The president of the society, Dr. H. Belshaw, was host for the' evening, assisted by Mrs. Belshaw, who wore a frock of hedge rose pleated chiffon. Other guests included the vice-presi-dent, Mr. L. C. H. Dawson, and Mrs. Dawson, who wore black ring velvet; Mr. and Mrs H. 11. Rod well, the latter weariiig black and white floral georgette; Mr. T. J. Spry, and Mrs. Spry, in midnight blue cloque: and Mr. L* W. Holt. "
Members of the committee comprised: Miss Betty Young, who wore mist blue stiffened net; Miss Jocclyn Hesketh, apple green chiffon embroidered with gold; 3liss L.
