FAIR RENTS ACT
INCLUSION OF FLATS SUGGESTED EXTENSION [nv TELEGRAPH —OWN COItRESPONDENT] WELLINGTON. Saturday An amendment to the Local Bodies Polls Act and the widening of the scope of the Fair Bents Act are to be suggested by a deputation from tlio Wellington Labour 'Representation Committee, which is arranging to wait on the Ministers concerned. This decision was reached at this week's meeting of the Wellington Labour Representation Committee, which was presided over by Mr. J. 0. .Johnson.
The proposed amendment to the Local Bodies Polls Act will refer in particular to the filling of vacancies on hospital boards. The proposed extension of the Fair Rents Act would bring within its scope, if possible, rented flats and rooms.
