MOTOR-CAR IN SEA
WAVES BREAKING OVER RAN AWAY WHEN UNATTENDED "Your car is in the sea" was tho surprising news that greeted Mr. W. F. Hargreavcs, who lives at 36 Hauraki Road, Takapuna, as he was finishing his lunch yesterday. Going outside ho found that his motor-car, a small twoseater open model, which had been parked on tho road, was submerged to tho running boards in tho water on Takapuna Beach, 100 yards away, with waves breaking over it.
Hauraki Road slopes down to Takapuna Beach, and the car had run down to the beach, across a ramp on to Iho sand, and finally into the water. It was later hauled back to the road by a motor-bus and taken to a garage. Mr. Hnrgreaves could not estimate the damage which his car bad suffered, nor could ho explain how it had moved from the roadside. The car was in the water for about half an hour.
