SHIP DELAYED IN PORT
ELEVEN OF CREW ABSENT NEW ZEALAND PAY SOUGHT [llY TELEGRAPH OWN CORRESPONDENT] CIIRIRTCTIUJICH, Sunday The absence of 11 members of its crew has held up the departure of the Union Steam Ship Company's chartered motor-ship Capo Horn, which was to have sailed from Lyttelton yesterday for Punedin. The departure was postponed until 11 a.m. to-day, but as at that hour the men had not returned the vessel's departure has been further delayed.
It is understood that the men have absented themselves pending a decision on a claim which they have made to be placed on New Zealand rates of pay and conditions. Tho Capo Horn is on English articles. It is expected that a settlement will be effected to-morrow, when representatives of the Seamen's Union and Union Company officials will confer.
