Fat wethers showed no alteration on recent rates, while lambs realised values equal to recent quotations. A small offering of ox beef was penned and sold under keen competition. A full entry of fat cows and heifers also maintained recent quotations. There was a keen demand for quality dairy heifers. The sale was conducted by Dalgety and Company, Limited, in conjunction with the Farmers' Co-operative Auctioneering Company, Limited The sale was most, satisfactory, 57 head of cattle averaging 20 guineas. [from our own correspondent] TE AWAMUTU, Friday The high price of £l9 was paid for a "•rade heifer of outstanding quality at a dispersal sale held by Newton King, Limited, on behalf of Mr. R. Cliff, of Mhikihi. The sale was unusually successful. The whole I«no of two-vear-old heifers averaged £l3 ss. Ihe cows came forward in splendid order and ftiet, with spirited competition from first to last, cattle being consigned to Tanpiri, Walton, Hamilton, Cambridge and Putaruru. Practically every cow realised double figures. All early calving cows sold from £l2 to £l7 10s,' the extremely satisfactory average of £l2 5s resulting over all. The_ offering of pedigree cows attracted great interest, the cow Forest Hill Minnie bringing 21gus, Survey Zclma I.4%gns, Surrey Bello l2V 2 gns. Pedigree two-year heifers realised front 13gns to 15gns. The butter-fat bull Jersey Glen Silver Chief realised 37gns, other twoyear pedigree bulls bringing from llgns to llgns.
