Impressions of T.T. Course

AUCKLANDER'S LETTER Tbo opinion that it seemed incredible that speeds over 60 miles an hour could be attained on the tortuous course for the Islo of Man Tourist Trophy race is expressed in a letter written recently from the Islo of Man by the Auckland motor-cyclist, L. V. Perry. He stated that the mountain mist and dangerous road set a severe test for any competitor. The letter was written shortly before the race, after Perry and the Australian rider, Musset, had practised .around the course. In a later practice spin, Perry fell and was injured to such an extent that he vrns unable to compete in the event, miich to the disappointment of his cycling friends here. "There will be 55 entries in the senior event, 69 in the junior race and 31 in the light-weight class," the letter adds. "I have been advised and intend to ride Velocette machines in two clnsses, and the twin Velocette will be ready for the senior race." Perry pays tribute in his letter to tho hospitality and assistance of people with whom he came in contact, and adds that on returning to England, before leaving for New Zealand, he expects to spend some time in the experimental department of the B.S.A. factory.
