Fine Showing by Novice Riders

POPULAR CLUB TRIAL A novice trial was held by the Auckland Motor Cycle Club in the vicinity of Titirangi last Sunday nnder ideal conditions. Twenty-eight riders participated, the novel sight of one machine adorned with L-plates cansing some amusement. The competitors were divided into three classes, consisting of (a) riders who had been placed in a trial before; (b) riders who had ridden in a trial but not been placed; and (c) riders who had not previously taken part in such an event. . ; - <:i The results were as follow: — A Class.—J. The feature of the day was the splendid performances put up by the novices, who rode remarkably well. Tho host effort was that of W. Kelly, who tied for second placo in' his class on only his second ride in a trial of this nature. The A class riders were rather put to shame by tho three placed men in the B class section, who lost fewer points than the winner in tho experts' class. A cup will he awarded to tho winner of each class and certificates to the other place-winners. The presentations will he made at the next monthly meeting in the clubrooms, Grey's Avenue, on July 4. The next event on the club's calendar will he a one-day observed sections trial for the Crawford Cup, presented by Mr. S. Crawford, of Avondule. It will be hold on Sunday, July 2.
