SEAGULL IN CHIMNEY
Dear Anne Shirley,—l would like to tell about an interesting incident tlmt took place during the holidays. Oil .Monday and Sunday nights we had had a lovely fire roaring up tho chimney, and had heard a strange shuffling noise in the chimney. So on Tuesday, mother lifted the canopy from the fireplace to investigate and there staring at us was a seagull! His wings were badly singed but luckily he could fly, as we found when we took him outside. —Yours sincerely, Elizabeth Williamson, Otahului.
