KERI KERI
T)k\Ali ANNE SHI 11 LEY, —We are proud of Keri Keri because it is such a historic and interesting settlement. The oldest stone and wooden buildings arc situated hern. They are both over a hundred years old, and many travellers stop 011 their way to admire these old buildings. The wooden
house is occupied by two elderly .ladies, and it is still in very good condition. It is surrounded by a, beautiful garden and is on part of the section on which the stone building stands. This is a two-storeyed building which is now used for a store. Keri Keri was the second mission station and was established in 1819. The second school examination held in New Zealand took place at Keri Keri, and was of three days duration. The first plough was used here, but the experiment was a failure. Keri Keri is really a very interesting place and also very pretty. Now I must close, with love from Helen Bilkey, Keri Keri.
