Cat and kettle in front of a fire — What could you wish for more? — Coming in on a blustery day Out of the Winds Wild roar. Silence and peace within the room, Blue bowl of yellow flowers; Clear crystal and old mahogany, Tall clock to chime the hours. Bright glow of flame on copper and brass, Dreams in the heart of the fire; Kettle singing of bygone days—sWeet Tunes from an elfin lyre. Armchair near the blaze; a favourite Book to companion me; Glisten of rain on the window pane, And hot buttered toast and tea. —Louise Matheson.
