Wakefield Thurston is shot through the head as he lies dying from arsenical poisoning in a house overrun hv callous nephews and nieces. His will makes it plain that he had expected to he murdered, and police investigations lead to the arrest of John Thurston, a nephew. This situation is the groundwork of Mr. Maurice 15.
