I REPRESENTATIVE GAME NORTHLAND AND TARANAKI MATCH THIS AFTERNOON Tho first inter-provincial Rugby League trial gamo for the selection of the Xew Zealand tonm to tour Hnglaml this year will be played at. Carlaw Park this afternoon between Northland and l'aranaki. Xot for some time have these two sides been seen in Auckland and keen interest is being taken in the contest. Should the weather be fine nnd the ground conditions favourable for fast play, the Northland barks may have the advantage with several experienced players in the rearguard. The Taranaki team, however, is strong in the forwards and should be capable of holding its own The match will commence at 1.30 p.m. and the teams are as follows: Northland.—Fullback, P. Child; threequarters, J; Chetham. J. E. Pic-knell, I{. Hamilton. G. Mackio, W. Flcsher; fiveeighths, W. Murray, S. Hamilton; halfback. F. Bradley; forwards, Kartell, Crump, V Payne, McMillan, L. SENIOR CHAMPIONSHIP
NORTH SHORE AND RICHMOND The senior competition of the Auckland Rugby League will also be continued and the principal attraction at C'arlaw Park will be between Richmond and North Shore. The meeting of these two teams should provide thrilling play. Newton has been drawn to meet Ponsonby on No. -J ground and a fast and even game is cnticipated. Tho former team caused something of a surprise last week in defeating Mount Albert and its chances of success are favoured in tu-day's rontct In the early game on No. 2 ground City will play Marist. The remaining senior game will be played at Onehunga, where Manukau and Papakura aro opposed.
SOUTH AUCKLAND TEAM The selectors for the South Auckland Rugby League. Messrs. Menzies, Timnis and Mahutn. have chosen the following players from which a team will be selected to meet the Taranaki representatives at Davies Park, Huntly, tomorrow. at -J.30 p.m.:— T. Shaw, W.
